Restore your body’s foundation, re-align your core, and find your internal resilience.
Pelvic Floor and Core
If you have Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (PFD), you’re not alone. Nearly 25% of U.S. women over 20 years old have moderate to severe symptoms. Although it’s common, many people with PFD don’t want to talk about how embarrassing symptoms may affect their life.
PFD can show up as:
Incontinence (peeing when you sneeze)
Postural misalignment
Organ prolapse
Bowel issues
Thickness through the waist
Back pain
I can help you safely and effectively address these symptoms with Hypopressive exercises. Hypopressives are a series of active stretching patterns, gentle neuro-dynamic movements, and simple breathing techniques.
These exercises will lengthen and align your posture, re-position the pelvic organs to prevent or improve symptoms of prolapse and help heal diastasis recti. They can also improve or resolve incontinence caused by PFD.
Hypopressives are simple, safe, and highly effective.
What to Expect
Hypopressive movements are active, but they are not intense (no sweating!) Most people can do them with modest effort. Exercises can also be modified for those with a limited range of motion. The moves are paired with a series of breath holds that are simple and should leave you feeling calm and relaxed.
The goal of Hypopressives is to empower you to manage and prevent any PFD symptoms, optimize your breathing capacity, and restore your core.
How Many Sessions?
Six sessions are typically enough to learn the basics of a Hypopressive routine so you can continue doing them on your own to manage and prevent symptoms.
If you want ongoing support in your practice or wish to learn more advanced Hypopressive techniques, you may continue with sessions as long as you wish.
What Equipment Do I Need?
Enough floor space to do a “snow angel,” and a yoga mat, rug, or towel to cushion the floor. You will also want a small cushion or blanket at hand in case you need a boost in the seated poses.
What Should I Wear?
Form-fitting, stretchy clothes. It is essential that I can see your ribs and waist, so a bra top or very snug tank top are best.
For online sessions, it is VERY helpful if your clothes don’t blend with your background.
